After speaking at the Maui Photo Festival & Workshop and shooting a story at the Hotel Hana (more on those later as I try to get caught up on some long overdue blogging!) I had essentially one full day of time to myself to play. Earlier in the week I got the notion in my head that surfing would be fun. So on my free day I headed over to Maui Wave Riders and signed up for a lesson. It was fun and surprisingly easy to get up! What they don’t tell you is how hard all that paddling is! That aside, I’d totally do it again!

We had arranged for Clark Little to give Julieanne Kost a surfing lesson but she hurt her back and I don’t think it ever happened. He was ready to go. We should have offered it to you. You look like you know what you’re doing.
Um “easy to get up?!” Just ask Eddy about my inaugural surf experience, ha!
