5 Beach Honeymoon Ideas

March 26, 2018

After wedding planning and the hectic nature of a wedding day, what’s better than a beach honeymoon to relax with your significant other? I’m sharing five of the best beach honeymoon locales that I’ve seen in my travels!

Best Beach Honeymoon Ideas

Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands

Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands

GO: Now! Yes, the British Virgin Islands were hit hard by the 2017 hurricanes. But the BVI is back and ready for tourism, yet the crowds are still low since people think they’re not currently ready for visitors. Hurricane season (September-November) will nab you the best deals, but you do risk your trip being canceled if storms are on the horizon. Winter and Spring are the ideal time for diving in the BVI, so if that’s a high priority for you and your honey, visit during those seasons.

DO: Hire a boat and do a bar crawl, starting with the infamous Soggy Dollar Bar. Anchor your boat, stuff cash in your swimsuit, and swim into Soggy for cocktails and lounging on the beach. Each of the islands has a bevy of beach bars, all worth visiting if for no other reason than to determine who makes the region’s best Painkiller cocktail.

STAY: Fly into Tortola and stay at the Vista Do Mar

Kauai's Na Pali Coast

Kauai’s Na Pali Coast

Kauai, Hawaii

GO: September through November and April through June mean lower rates on airfare and hotels and the weather is still gorgeous.

DO: Take a doors-off helicopter flight over the island with Jack Harter Helicopters and a zodiac boat tour along the NaPali coast with Captain Andy’s. You’ll be amazed at the sheer size of the cliffs along the NaPali coast!

STAY: Book a cozy bungalow at Waimea Plantation Cottages for plantation-style privacy.

Moorea, Islands of Tahiti

Moorea, Islands of Tahiti

GO: Tahiti is less humid in the winter and since it’s in the Southern Hemisphere that means May through October is the ideal time to go.

DO: As little as possible! Moorea and the rest of the Tahitian islands are all about chilling in your overwater bungalow and swimming and snorkeling. Spend lots of quality time with your sweetie and the colorful marine life the islands have to offer!

STAY: InterContinental Moorea Resort and Spa for views like the one shown above

The Marker, Key West, Florida

The Florida Keys

GO: March through May offers lower crowds and ideal Florida weather, 70-80 degrees without the oppressive humidity that state experiences in the summer.

DO: Tour Key West Legal Rum Distillery and nab a key-lime-pie donut at Glazed Donuts.

STAY: Stay in the heart of the action at The Marker, a modern waterfront resort just a short walk to Duval Street.

Soneva Fushi, Maldives

The Maldives

GO: November through April offers ideal weather while avoiding the holiday season crowds.

DO: Enjoy dinner on the beach at sunset or a sexy bath or shower for two in your outdoor bathroom. Don’t worry, it’s plenty private and no one will see!

STAYSoneva Fushi, an idyllic private island escape where pampering is a way of life.
