Winter in Florida brings prime weather for roadtrips. Buck the trend (and the traffic) by flying to Key West and driving north along Route 1. Preferably with the top down.

No overwater bungalows? How could Tahiti’s newest private-island resort be awe-inspiring without them? Perhaps Marlon Brando knew better. Privacy and preservation were so paramount to him that he banned overwater bungalows here on Tetiaroa, a 12-island atoll he fell for in 1960 while filming Mutiny on the Bounty.

The beach. it's tempting to join him, but I'm a Jersey girl. If I wanted to lounge around and work on my tan, I'd head to the Jersey shore or Maui.
